Abstract
The title complex, [CoCl2(C24H16N6)].2C(3)H(7)NO, has been prepared fr om cobalt chloride and 6,6'-dibenzimidazolyl-2,2'-bipyridine (DBBP). T he metal center is coordinated in a distorted tetrahedral configuratio n to two Cl- ions and to two N donor atoms of the DBBP ligand which ac ts bidentately. The Co-N distances are 2.033 (4) Angstrom and the Co-C l distances are 2.2300 (18) Angstrom. The coordination angles lie betw een 102.61 (13) and 118.13 (18)degrees. The complex has C-2 symmetry.
