Abstract
Oxygen doped La2CuO4+y single crystals have been successively synthesi zed and studied their structural, magnetic and superconducting charact ers. Phase separation due to the existence of the miscibility gap as w ell as the oxygen staging were detected by systematic neutron diffract ion studies. Spin correlations and fluctuations were also studied in d etails. Spin fluctuations in the oxygen doped La2CuO4+y can be compare d with those of the Sr doped crystals and is understood in terms of th e general 'hole' doping.
