Abstract
The effect of non-magnetic impurities is studied for the cuprates incl uding high-Tc superconductors and two-leg ladder compounds. Two topics are discussed. One is the anomalous Kondo effect in metallic high-Tc cuprates, and the other is the impurity induced antiferromagnetism in the insulators.
