Abstract
Micron scale stacked junctions have been fabricated from Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 whiskers. For in plane size L less than 20 mu m measurements of the c ritical current I-c along the c-axis as a function of the parallel mag netic field H clearly demonstrate the intrinsic de Josephson effect. F or larger values of L a dimensional crossover to monotonic, size indep endent behaviour of I-c(H) is observed. Flux flow steps on current vol tage characteristics of overlap stacks have been found in high paralle l magnetic fields, due to the collective motion of Josephson vortex la ttice.
