Abstract
The temperature dependence of the resistivity rho(T) of single-crystal s Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x has been measured from 77 to 930 K. An anomaly in th e resistivity is observed at T-600 It. It was found that the low resis tance state (T-c=77 K) is metastable at T<500 K. It relaxes to a stabl e high resistance state (T-c=91 K). The superconductivity transition t emperature T-c, rho and rho(T)(c)/rho(T)(ab) all increase during this relaxation process.
