The microcurrent path of highly c-axis-oriented Bi(2223)/Ag tapes has
been investigated by in-plane (I//ab plane) and out-of-plane (I//c axi
s) transport measurements. It includes the dependence of transport cri
tical current on temperatures close to T-c at different magnetic field
s and the resistance transition broadening for applied fields H parall
el to c-axis. It is found that the transport measurement results of in
-plane and out-of-plane are quite different. We attribute the differen
ces to the different microcurrent path. We think that the microcurrent
path of the highly c-axis-oriented Bi(2223)/Ag tape is correlated wit
h the direction of current injection.
