Abstract
Measurements of longitudinal ultrasound velocity and attenuation in po lycrystalline single-phase La2-xBaxCuO4-y ( 0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.18) were performed. A clear discontinuity of s ound velocity was observed near 60K for all samples. This discontinuit y was also accompanied by a peak in the attenuation.
