Simple equations for the linear response of layered superconductors wi
th d-wave symmetry of the order parameter are derived by means of kine
tic equations for Green's functions. Responses to solenoidal and poten
tial electric fields have different frequency dependencies. The dampin
g of plasma oscillation of superconducting electrons is determined by
dielectric relaxation and is small. Relaxation of branch imbalance det
ermined by elastic scattering is large enough to make the Carlson-Gold
man mode in d-wave superconductors overdamped.
