Abstract
The studies of phase relations in the Ba-Bi-O (BBO) system, which is t he parent one for the superconducting Ba-K-Bi-O (BKBO) system, have re sulted in discovery of a large number of discrete barium-bismuth oxide s. Structures of samples corresponding to two-phase regions formed of Ba-rich layered oxides and the prime perovskite BaBiO3 have found to b e disordered in a similar manner as structures of BKBO samples.
