Abstract
For Melt-Powder-Melt-Growth (MPMG) YBCO, Pt addition induces the acicu lar Y2BaCuO(Y211) particles in micrometer size with a uniform distribu tion, while the addition of Pt together with SnO2 (PbO) results in the various shapes and nonuniform distributions of Y211 particles. The fo rmations of these microstructures were discussed. The magnetic Jc of t he sample with co-addition of Pt and SnO2(PbO) is less than that with Pt addition. The different microstructures are responsible for various magnetization properties.
