Abstract
Single crystals of structural type A(14)Cu(24)O(41) were grown and the ir structural, optical and magnetic properties were investigated. On t he base of the data obtained it is proposed that superconductivity in the crystals of incommensurate phases is to be correlated with the Cu- deficiency and the corresponding changes in characteristic Cu-O struct ural units.
