We have measured the electrical resistivity of sintered polycrystallin
e YBa2Cu3O7-x. The current density was varied from 0.1A/cm(2) to 5.5A/
cm(2) in steps. The 50 percent resistive superconducting transition te
mperature T-c(50%) was found to be 89.5K for a current density of O.1A
/cm(2). With increase in current density, T-c was found to reduce and
simultaneously the superconducting transition width was found to incre
ase. The transition region was also found to become more asymmetric ac
ross the T-c(50%) with increase in current density.
