Yt. Qian et al., SYNTHESIS OF HG-BASED 1222-CUPRATES USING SOL-GEL PROCESS COMBINED WITH THE SEALED QUARTZ-TUBE METHOD, Physica. C, Superconductivity, 282, 1997, pp. 921-922
Two series of Sr-based (Hg,M)-1222 cuprates (Hg,M)Sr-2(Ln,Ce)(2)Cu2Oz
(M=Pb, Nb) have been successfully synthesized using the precursor Sr-2
(Ln,Ce)(2)Cu2Oz prepared by the citrate sol-gel process. X-ray powder
diffraction indicates that the samples with nominal compositions (Hg0.
5Pb0.5)Sr-2(Gd1.5Ce0.5)Cu2Oz and (Hg0.8Nb0.2)Sr-2(Nd1.5Ce0.5)Cu2Oz hav
e tetragonal structure and the lattice parameters are a = 3.846, c = 2
9.418 Angstrom and a = 3.864, c = 29.353 Angstrom, respectively. Resis
tance measurements show that the Pb sample (Ln=Gd) is a superconductor
with a T-c(onset) of 38K.
