Abstract
We have performed a photoemission study on Y0.4Pr0.6Ba2-xSrxCu3O7-delt a system. It was shown that the binding energies of Y3d, Ba3d, Sr3d an d Ols decreased while the Pr3d core level increased with increasing Sr content. The result strongly suggests that Sr-doping leads to the wea kening of Pr4f-O2p hybridization. We present a band picture to interpr et the revival of superconductivity induced by the Sr substitution.
