Lb. Wang et al., SHIFT OF CORE-LEVEL BINDING-ENERGY OF STRONTIUM DUE TO GAMMA-IRRADIATION IN BI2SR2CACU2OY CRYSTALS, Physica. C, Superconductivity, 282, 1997, pp. 989-990
Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy crystals were irradiated by Co-60 gamma-rays at a dose r
ate of 6 kGy/h up to 7.2, 60 and 648 kGy, respectively, at room temper
ature. X-ray photoemission spectroscopy results reveal that the core-l
evel binding energy of strontium shifts to higher energy with increasi
ng the gamma-ray dose. Corresponding to these results, the superconduc
ting transition temperature T-c unchanged at low dose, then increased
with dose and decreased at 648 kGy. The shift of core-level binding en
ergy of strontium is related to the change of the hole concentration.
