Abstract
Study of electronic states of different elements in complex Bi-contain ing oxides by voltammetry of solids has showed that the electronic sta tes of Bi, Cu and O atoms in some superconducting and related phases c annot be presented in terms of conventional oxidation states and only an adoption of unconventional oxidation states allows to describe accu rately obtained experimental results.
