Abstract
LaCuO2.5 is composed of coupled cuprate ladders, and admits hole dopin g without structural alteration. It is thus a candidate novel supercon ductor, although to date superconductivity has not been found. Here we study the undoped, parent state to elucidate the interplay between sp in liquid and antiferromagnetic ground states in systems with potentia l for superconductivity.
