Chemical modification of the xylan from Palmaria decipiens by oxidatio
n with sodium peryodate allowed the introduction of aldehyde functions
. The modified xylan was treated with p-chloroaniline to give ligands
for the coordination of Cu (II). The comp lex obtained was characteriz
ed by FT-IR and U.V. spectroscopies and cyclic voltammetry.
