A. Golombiewski et al., IMMUNOHISTOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF FIBRIN DEPOSITION AND THROMBUS FORMATION IN CANINE MAMMARY NEOPLASIA, Journal of Comparative Pathology, 117(2), 1997, pp. 177-183
A commercially available monoclonal antibody against human fibrin was
used to detect fibrin in canine formalin-fixed, paraffin was-embedded
tissue by applying a slightly modified alkaline phosphatase anti-alkal
ine phosphatase (APAAP) technique. Twenty-eight mammary tumours from s
ix bitches were examined for the presence of fibrin. Thrombi and extra
vascular fibrin deposits were detected in 15 tumours (12 complex adeno
carcinomas, one adenocarcinoma; two solid carcinomas), and a single th
rombus was detected in one adenoma; 12 tumours (three adenomas, one co
mplex adenoma, four complex adenocarcinomas and four adenocarcinomas)
did not show any staining reaction. (C) 1997 W.B. Saunders Company Lim
