The [CuL](ClO4), complex, L = 1,4,7,10-tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1 ,4,
7,10-tetraazacyclododecane, was prepared in EtOH and characterized. Th
e crystal structure of the complex was determined by single-crystal X-
ray analysis. The coordination geometry about the copper ion can be de
scribed as a strongly distorted octahedron, with Cu-N distances rangin
g from 2.01(1)-2.82(1) Angstrom.
