Abstract
The genus Acantheremus Karny (Tettigoniidae: Cohiphorinae) is revised. Two already known species are redescribed and six new species are des cribed from Costa Pica, Panama, Guyana, Venezuela, Brazil and Dominica . Acantheremus possibly represents a highly derived branch within the genus Copiphora Serville, which is specialized for an insectivorous, s trictly arboreal way of life.
