P. Naskrecki, A REVISION OF THE NEOTROPICAL GENUS ACANTHEREMUS KARNY, 1907 (ORTHOPTERA, TETTIGONIIDAE, COPIPHORINAE), Transactions of the American Entomological Society, 123(3), 1997, pp. 137-161
The genus Acantheremus Karny (Tettigoniidae: Cohiphorinae) is revised.
Two already known species are redescribed and six new species are des
cribed from Costa Pica, Panama, Guyana, Venezuela, Brazil and Dominica
. Acantheremus possibly represents a highly derived branch within the
genus Copiphora Serville, which is specialized for an insectivorous, s
trictly arboreal way of life.
