Abstract
Colloidal gold nanoparticles in toluene solution, synthesised using a two-phase liquid/liquid system, display second harmonic generation, wa velength analysis of which indicates the narrow frequency band of the gold surface plasmon for nanoparticles present at the air/toluene inte rface.
