Ic. Gertner et Ga. Geri, CONJOINT IMAGE REPRESENTATION WITH A WEIGHTED ZAK TRANSFORM, Journal of the Optical Society of America. A, Optics, image science, and vision., 11(8), 1994, pp. 2215-2219
An image-representation technique is described that uses a window func
tion that provides good localization in both space and spatial frequen
cy. The window function is obtained by weighting of the Zak transform
(ZT) of a Gaussian. The weighting procedure eliminates the zero in the
ZT, thus permitting efficient and stable computation of expansion coe
fficients with respect to the derived window function. Since the windo
w function is related to Gabor functions and, in addition, resembles a
visual receptive field, it may also be useful in visual representatio
n and modeling.
