N. Sahoo et al., DIELECTRIC-CONSTANT MEASUREMENT OF LIGNIN BY CHEMICAL OSCILLOMETRY, Indian Journal of Pure & Applied Physics, 35(8), 1997, pp. 518-522
The dielectric constant of isolated and purified lignin, obtained from
black liquor, has been evaluated using a high frequency chemical osci
llometer. The value of dielectric constant obtained above has been dou
bly verified by theoretical analysis as well as by an experimental tec
hnique. The values determined by all the three methods lie in the rang
e 7.70 - 7.98, having a mean value of 7.86. Although the chemical osci
llometer is basically used for the dielectric constant measurement of
liquid samples, it has successfully been used for the powdered solid s
amples.
