Abstract
Anserine and free amino acid content in specimens of rainbow trout (On chorhyncus Mykiss) from an intensive fish farm in the district of Trie ste (Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy) were analysed. The sample s consisted of specimens of fish at various stages of growth, and of a dults reared in natural daylight conditions or indoors. The analyses w ere performed with an ion exchange chromatograph with ''post column'' detection using a ninhydrin reagent. The data show an increase of anse rine content with growth, and a higher anserine and glycine content in the specimens (of the same weight) reared under natural light exposur e.
