Abstract
Employing fast time-resolved infrared (TRIR) spectroscopy, the pattern of the nu(CO) IR bands in the lowest excited state of [(OC)5W(4,4'-bi py)W(CO)5] (4,4'-bipy = 4,4'-bipyridyl) shows that the electron distri bution in this state is localised on the IR time-scale.
