Abstract
An analysis was made using databases at the Institute for Scientific I nformation (ISI) in Philadelphia concerning the productivity in the fi eld of engineering sciences in Chile, a developing country with a neol iberal economy which has mainstream articles related to the Latin Amer ican context. This paper also mentions policies and actions to be adop ted in order to strengthen R&D activities to attain a higher scientifi c and technological progress.
