Abstract
We consider two elementary models for reaction kinetics on a catalytic surface: a monomer-monomer model and a monomer-dimer model. In both c ases we use Monte Carlo simulations to exhibit anomalous reaction kine tics which is the expression of density fluctuations and self-organiza tion of reactants in the system. We show the influence of this self-or ganization on the macroscopic behavior of the system.
