Circularly polarized optical excitation of a semiconductor microcavity
in a transverse magnetic field leads to pulsed laser emission with al
ternating circular polarization synchronized to the electron Larmor pr
ecession. The synchronization originates from the transfer of electron
-spin coherence to the dynamics of the optical field. A microscopic th
eory is developed to analyze the coupled carrier-light-field dynamics.
