Aj. Ericssonjackson et al., ACTUATOR SENSOR PLACEMENT USING DEGREE OF CONTROLLABILITY AND OBSERVABILITY FOR DIGITALLY CONTROLLED ORBITING PLATFORMS/, The Journal of the astronautical sciences, 45(1), 1997, pp. 73-89
In this paper, definitions of degree of controllability/observability,
which are defined based on a scalar value dependent on the controllab
ility/observability Grammian matrix, are presented for discrete-time s
ystems. The concepts of degree of controllability/observability are ap
plied to the actuator/sensor placement problem for thin flexible orbit
ing square platforms, The LQG transient time responses for several typ
ical systems with different degrees of controllability and observabili
ty are also displayed.
