Qc. Wei et Sj. Walde, THE FUNCTIONAL-RESPONSE OF TYPHLODROMUS-PYRI TO ITS PREY, PANONYCHUS-ULMI - THE EFFECT OF POLLEN, Experimental & applied acarology, 21(10-11), 1997, pp. 677-684
We looked at the effect of the presence of pollen (Typha latifolia) on
the functional response of Typhlodromus pyri (Phytoseiidae) to Panony
chus ulmi (Tetranychidae) in the laboratory. We found that pollen sign
ificantly reduced the predation rate but that the magnitude of the eff
ect was not large. Over the lower range of prey densities the effect a
ppeared to be due to a decrease in search efficiency.
