Abstract
Oncology is a field in veterinary medicine which is demanding more att ention from both veterinarians and their clients. An understanding of the principles of oncology and its treatment is essential for a succes sful outcome. The role of the veterinary surgeon in treating cancers i n companion animals is reviewed.
