Abstract
The hydrogenation of 2-cyclohexen-1-one and cyclohexene were studied i n liquid phase over Rh/SiO2 catalysts. The turnover frequency for both reactions is independent of the dispersity for each set of catalysts prepared with organic or chloride rhodium precursors. An effect of the precursor was observed: the chlorinated catalysts showed a higher act ivity than the non-chlorinated ones. However, the highest activity was observed when the catalysts were thermally treated with hydrogen satu rated with water vapor (HWV).
