An Ib-month-old camel calf was experimentally infected with a stock of
T. evansi. The first parasites were detected in the animal's peripher
al blood on Dg and the serological tests with IFAT were positive on D-
11 and by CATT on D-15. Between D-170 and D-581, the day of slaughter,
none of the inoculations in mice (immunodepressed or not) with camel
calf blood, both before and after its immunodepression, of blood, cere
brospinal fluid and organs (liver, kidneys, heart, spleen...) examinat
ions showed evidence of the trypanosomes in the camel's peripheral blo
od.
