Abstract
Fructose concentrations were compared in seminal plasma from stallion and Poitou jackass by an enzymatic method. Fructose was significantly higher in Poitou jackass semen, a result which led us to test a total or partial glucose substitution in INRA 82 medium, usually used for st allion semen freezing. After the freeze-thaw process, the sperm motili ty, VCL, VSL and LIN of Poitou jackass, as tested by a computer analys is system (ATS 40) showed that fructose did not improve these characte ristics at used concentrations.
