Abstract
Magnetic hysteresis loops (M-H) were measured on spiral grown Bi2Sr2Ca Cu2Oy (Bi-2212) crystals. Enhanced flux pinning and an anomalous peak at magnetic field of 1000 - 2000 Oe were observed between 20 and 40 K for the spiral grown crystals. The anomalous peaks were observed both in high T-c (86 K) or in lower T-c (76 K) crystals. The surface pinnin g associted with the surface spirals other than screw dislocations and oxygen vacancies are probably responsible for the enhanced flux pinni ng and the anomalous magntization peak effect.
