Abstract
The difference between thermal activation of vortices over surface bar rier and over bulk pinning centers is discussed. It is concluded that small reduction of the applied field can affect these two relaxation p roceedings quite differently. Based on this conclusion, a method for d etecting surface pinning effect is proposed. Experimental results on a melt grown YBa2Cu3O7 bulk sample support our proposal.
