Abstract
Irreversibility lines in magnetic fields H up to 40 kOe for H//(ab) an d H//c, ac-magnetic susceptibility, chi', and transport critical curre nt density, J(c), in Ag/Bi(Pb)SCCO-2223 tapes were studied in sintered and as-deformed states. Cold uniaxial pressing has been shown to resu lt in more easy vortex penetration into the tape. The increase of pres sing load, P, causes gradual decrease in J(c), which was yet non-zero up to the maximal P=12 GPa. The behavior of chi' vs. T curves and J(c) under compression indicated that creation of intergranular weak links with wide spectra of coupling T-c was the dominating deformation-indu ced effect.
