Critical current densities J(c) and pinning energies U for two high-J(
c) Ag-clad Bi2Sr2Cn-1CunOx tapes with n=2 and 3 respectively have been
studied in the temperature range 7-110K and magnetic field B less tha
n or equal to 6.5T. In both types of tapes J(c) and the pinning force
density F-p=J(c)B show scaling with B for T/T-c greater than or equal
to 0.3, analogous to that observed in high-T-c epitaxial films. The su
itable scaling field B(T) is the field of maximum F-p(F-pmax). In bot
h tapes the magnitude and temperature dependence of B is associated w
ith pinning energy U(B,T).
