The differential conductance, (dI/dV), on YBa2Cu3Oy/PrBa2Cu3Oy/YBa2Cu3
Oy (YBCO/PBCO/YBCO) sandwiched junctions and YBa2Cu3Oy/Y0.5Pr0.5Ba2Cu3
Oy (YBCO/YPBCO) superlattices was measured with STM at various tempera
ture ranges to investigate the proximity effects. The dI/dV curves sho
w conductance peaks at low temperatures and the energy gap, 2 Delta(ab
), derived from the peaks is equal to about 46 meV for YBCO/PBCO/YBCO
sandwiched junctions, which is consistent with the data obtained from
reported data on YBCO single crystals whereas the YBCO/YPBCO ((120 Ang
strom/60 Angstrom)x8) superlattices, due to the reduction of T-c, show
smaller gap value.
