Abstract
In this paper, we report the successful fabrication and current-voltag e characteristics of the YBa2Cu3O7 step-edge Josephson junctions on Mg O substrates. Our junctions were fabricated by patterning the laser de posited YBa2Cu3O7 thin film on MgO substrates with ion-milled steps. I nteger Shapiro steps were observed in the I-V characteristics up to 1 THz under 72 GHz external microwave irradiation. We also estimated the effective shunting capacitance from the voltage of the Fiske resonanc e observed.
