Reproducible high-critical current density (J(c)) superconducting Bi(P
b)(2)Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+x tapes were fabricated by electrophoretic depositio
n (EPD) on pure silver substrates. The as-deposited green tapes have e
xcellent grain alignment and a short sintering time of 5 hours is suff
icient to convert them to superconducting tapes having J, levels of 28
,000-30,000 A cm(-2) at 77 K and 0 T. The grain alignment of the green
tapes and the microstructures of the processed tapes are discussed.
