S. Suanez et al., SECULAR RELATIVE SEA-LEVEL CHANGES IN THE RHONE DELTA AND MARSEILLES AREA - TECTONIC AND OR CLIMATIC IMPLICATIONS/, Comptes rendus de l'Academie des sciences. Serie II. Sciences de la terre et des planetes, 324(8), 1997, pp. 639-646
A comparison of secular sea-level changes on the Rhone Delta and in th
e Marseilles area is used to estimate the long-term trend of sea-level
rise and the subsidence movements affecting the deltaic margin. The l
ong-term trend is associated with cyclic variations induced by the cli
matic variability. The increase in the risk of flooding for the future
is analysed.
