Abstract
We point out that the rare decay modes W+/- --> gamma + pi+/-, W+/- -- > gamma + D(s)+/- could be very much enhanced, with a branching ratio around 10(-6) which is some hundreds times larger than previous predic tions. Its observation will determine the W boson mass with great accu racy, providing additional high precision test of the Standard Model, as well as reveal eventual deviation from the trilinear non-Abelian ga uge coupling.
