Abstract
Bismuth bromide was found to work efficiently as a versatile catalyst for the cyanation and allylation of carbonyl compounds and acetals wit h organosilicon reagents, affording me corresponding alcohols and ethe rs in high yields. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
