F. Vanhavere et al., A LOCAL INTERCOMPARISON STUDY OF ESR DOSIMETRY USING TOOTH ENAMEL, Journal of radioanalytical and nuclear chemistry, 221(1-2), 1997, pp. 123-126
Using electron spin resonance (ESR), tooth enamel is a possible dosime
ter in case of a radiation accident. To check the present status of th
is technique, we conducted a local intercomparison study. we irradiate
d several samples of tooth enamel with a Co-60 source. Three institute
s in Belgium and The Netherlands recorded the ESR signal of the sample
s. The results of the measurements and the methods used are compared I
t is concluded that ESR on tooth enamel can be a useful technique in a
ccident dosimetry, provided further research is done.
