Tracer diffusion results for Cu-64 in the three solid phases of CuBr a
re presented and the results for CuX (X = Cl, Br, I) obtained in this
and earlier studies are summarised. All three systems reach diffusion
levels of (3-4) X 10(-5) cm2/s. The Cu diffusion displays a non-bondin
g energy dependence. The sequential change in anion sizes and masses a
nd a consequent modification in diffusion paths are used to interpret
the irregular diffusion.
