Abstract
The general expressions to compute effective elastic, piezoelectric an d dielectric characteristics of a laminated piezocomposite are derived by means of an asymptotic expansion method. The local problems used t o determine the so-called local auxiliary functions are shown. We comp ute explicitly the effective material characteristics for two examples of such layered medium. Finally, we apply these results to a piezocom posite material and obtain new piezoelectrics with better global prope rties.
