THICKENING ABILITY OF ETHOXYLATED AMINES AND WATER SOLUBILIZATION BY OIL COMPOSITIONS ON THEIR BASIS

The nature of intramicellar and intermicellar solubilization of water by oil compositions containing ethoxylated amines or aminoamide was co nsidered. The volumetric efficiency of solubilization and the thickeni ng ability of these compositions in I-20A industrial oil were assessed as functions of:temperature, surfactant nature, and concentration. Th e surfactants under study are multifunctional additions and are promis ing for the design of simple preservatives of carbon steel from atmosp heric corrosion.
