Abstract
4,4'-Dithienyl-4 ''-bromotriphenylamine or 4,4',4''-trithienyltripheny lamine was oxidized on indium-tin oxide (ITO) electrodes providing lin ear and starburst oligomers by thiophene coupling reactions. These oli gomer layers were coated with aluminum and the resulting sandwiches we re used as light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The photoemission and electro emission were near 500 nm, with a luminance of about 35 cd m(-2)at 8 V and 100 mA cm(-2). (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
